Dead When no gamblers are present at a table.
Dealer The person responsible for all the wagers placed on his/her half of the table. When wishing to make free odds, place, or a lay bet in the casino, players give the money to the dealer at their end of the table so he/she will position the wager on their behalf.
Dice are in the Middle When dice are entered into a game by the stickman & positioned above the Proposition Bets & in front of the Boxman. This is when players should place their wagers.
Dime Dealer's slang for 2 $5 gambling chips.
Don't Come Bet A "virtual don't pass bet"; a wager made following the Come Out Roll.
Don't Pass Bet A gamble that the dice won't pass. This wager can be made only prior to a "come out" roll. One result (either the two or the 12, depends on a casino) will end in a push. The house's edge on these wagers is 1.40 per cent. A Don't Pass bet may be reduced, though not increased, following the come-out roll.
Double Odds An odd bet about two times as big as the original pass/come bet. Some casinos offer higher odds, like 5X and even 10X odds.
Down Behind Typically called by dealers in order to inform a Don't bettor that his/her gamble lost.
Down the Middle (or Straight Out) Often refers to Player Position number six at the center of either end of the table.
Down with Odds Typically declared & carried out by dealers when paying off a bettor Place Bet & moving SAME PLAYER Come Bet on to a particular number. This ensures that specific bettor is COVERED on the specific number.
Downtown Odds Better odds (payoffs) on Proposition Bets, Place Bets on 6 and 8 and Field as featured in the majority of downtown Vegas casinos.
Drop The amount of money earned during a casino shift at a particular table. It is the boxman's responsibility to keep track as gamblers cash into the game in exchange for gambling chips.
