Hand-In A tip (toke) given to a dealer. Generally during a favorable roll of the dice or while cashing-out before leaving the table.
Hard Way A wager on 4, 6, 8, or 10 that wins only when the dice appear with the same face. (Example: ‘Hard 8' results when each die indicates a four)
Hardways Work Unless gamblers call them off, should always be called by stickman on Come-Out roll to remind gamblers that hardway bets are at risk.
Hawking the Dice When dealers glances at the dice after being rolled to the opposite end of the table. Dealers are supposed to observe their ends of the table always, in order to best provide customer service as well as protect the game.
Hi-Lo A one-roll bet on 2 and 12.
Hi-Lo-Yo A one-roll gamble on 2, 11 and 12.
Hit a Brick Said by a stickman when a die hits a stack of gambling chips and fails to roll to the end of the table.
Hook Gambler positions 4 & 5 near the corner of either ends of the table. Regularly referred to as an "Inside Hook" or "Outside Hook."
Hop Bet A wager that the next roll will result in one particular combination of the dice. Examples: 2-2 (known as a "hopping hardway") or 3-5. 2-2, 3-3, 4-4, and 5-5 are paid the same as a one roll 2; other hop bets are paid equal to a one-roll 11.
Horn bet A gamble that the subsequent roll will result in a 2, 3, 11, or 12, done in multiples of four, with one unit on each of the numbers.
Horn High Bet A wager made in multiples of five with one unit on 3 of the horn numbers & two units on the "high" number (12). "$5 horn high 11": $1 each on 2, 3, 12, & $2 on the eleven.
Hot Table When gamblers are winning, generally passline, come and/or place wagerers.
House Bank The gambling chips stacked up between the dealers & in front of the boxman. Used for paying winning wagers and/or color-ins.
