Banked card games are those in which participants play against the casino house. These are now allowed only at the Seminole tribe's seven Florida-based casino establishments under an agreement signed by Governor Charlie Crist and Seminole Tribe chairman Mitchell Cypress last year.
The deal was approved by the U.S. Department of the Interior in the beginning of 2008. James Allen, Seminole Gaming CEO, was reported as saying that now that casino games were available in Florida, Floridians no longer had to travel to distant gaming destinations in order to enjoy gambling entertainment. According to the tribe's spokesperson, thousands of Blackjack lovers arrived at the casino for the first deals.
