Keno Strategy
Keno is a game of pure luck, so there's not a whole lot of strategy you can employ that will help increase your chances of winning. The numbers are chosen randomly so, rationally speaking, no numbers which are drawn have any relation to numbers drawn previously. Although it sounds strange, if you select five numbers on a ticket, there's no greater chance of seeing 9, 21, 35, 38, 57 come up, than seeing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Each number has the exact same chance of being drawn as any other number.
So, although Keno is different from games like blackjack and poker in that the player's actions have very little influence on the outcome of the game, there are a few techniques that some gamblers believe will help. Although perhaps they cannot be correctly labeled "strategic decisions," the following tips & techniques are commonly used and can make the game more interesting:
Play numbers that you have not seen come up in recent games.
The theory being that they will start coming up in order to make the long-term results for each number even out.
Instead of gambling on the numbers that have not come up the most often, many keno players will place wagers on the numbers that have come up. Though it goes against the laws of chance & probability, there are always new trends & patterns when dealing with numbers drawn randomly, and these streaks can be very profitable when properly exploited.
Pick successive numbers.
Choosing pairs such as 12 & 12 or perhaps 43 & 44 would be considered as successive numbers. Although there's no proof this actually works, over a long period, it does seem like many of the numbers which come out are in consecutive pairs. This belief is shared by many Keno players.
Choose the same set of numbers consecutively.
This strategy is very straightforward & not surprisingly, the most common: play the same selection of numbers repeatedly over the course of a number of rounds.
Remember, there is nothing ‘strategic' about these systems, but they can definitely be fun to try out and they definitely can't hurt your chances of winning.
