Your Blackjack Odds: Wanna Boost?

Your Blackjack Odds: Wanna Boost?Unlike most other games played at either online casinos or traditional land-based venues, blackjack is recognized by gambling experts as a game requiring a substantial amount of skill in order for a player to beat the dealer - or "House" - and win. Sure, luck will always play a major part in determining whether a player wins or loses, but there's a whole lot more to winning at blackjack than meets the eye.

By developing a clear understanding of the game of blackjack, players can immediately boost their odds of winning more money more often. Of the more important aspects of the game, what players want (and need) to know most are their chances of drawing certain card values in any given situation.

Online casinos are licking their chops for the inevitable influx of new gamblers ready to play blackjack, the new game Crazy21, and all the other casino games that these online gambling sites have to offer.

Top 3 Blackjack Tournament Rules

With the recent and very exciting advent of online blackjack tournaments, it's important to keep in mind that not all online blackjack tournaments are created equal. In fact, given that this thriving sector of the online casino world is still only in its infancy, it's a safe bet to assume that the rules will vary from site to site. Having said this, players are best off gathering as much info as they can vis-à-vis rules, terms, buy-in rates, number of hands, prize money etc., before laying down any of their money.

Of course, with any casino game there are fundamentals every real-money player must know before playing, or they won't be playing for too long. The game of blackjack is no exception, and blackjack tournaments are also played according to their own - however varying - sets of rules. And though the number of rules is plenty, for now we'll just touch on the top three rules everyone ought to know about playing in an online blackjack tournament.

Single vs. Multi-Table Tournaments

Blackjack tournaments featured at online casinos are divided into two very distinct categories: single table and multiple table competitions. Though the actual blackjack playing rules are virtually the same in both single and multi-table tourneys, what separates the two are how the players move from level to level, and round to round.

Single Table Tournaments (One-Round Tournaments)
With respect to player options, single table tournaments vary from one casino to another, as well as from tournament to tournament. So, as the player, before starting any tournament, it's up to you to decide which type of game you'd like to compete in.

Intro to Online Blackjack Tournaments

In all likelihood, especially if you're a blackjack enthusiast, you've been hearing more and more about the growing popularity of blackjack tournaments featured at online casinos. Like its poker cousins, blackjack is also experiencing a tremendous wave of interest, due in large part to both poker and blackjack games and competitions being broadcasted to millions of viewers on television.

But what exactly is an online blackjack tournament and how is the game played any differently than traditional blackjack? Well, what separates blackjack tournaments from regular blackjack play is that in tournaments, players bet against one another and not against the dealer, or the  "House."

Blackjack Tournament Basics

Regular blackjack games, regardless of whether they're played in land-based or online casinos, are played with one or more players competing against the dealer, or "House." In tournament blackjack, however, players compete against one another, and not against the dealer. Both forms of blackjack are played with one or more 52-card decks. The object of the game is to draw cards so that they total exactly 21, or come as close as possible to twenty-one without exceeding it. Going over 21 is referred to as "busting," in which case the player is eliminated from the round and loses his/her bets.

Card Values
Following are the various card point values: an ace is worth either one or 11 (at the player's discretion); all face cards are valued at 10; and all other cards are worth their numerical values.
